Virtual Hangar™ Continues to Grow the C-17 Virtual Reality Training Module Library

Mass Virtual teamed up with AETC’s Integrated Technology Platform, AMC, and the 60th Air Mobility Wing at Travis Air Force Base, CA to add C-17 Aero-Medical Evacuation and Aircraft Maintenance Training Modules into the Virtual Hangar™ enterprise platform. In addition, the Air Force’s Negatively Pressurized Conex (NPC) System operations were also virtually captured. The NPCs are the latest isolated containment chambers developed to transport individuals with infectious diseases, like COVID-19.The modules will support the C-17 community by providing virtual reality training capabilities on critical aero-medical evacuation tasks for time-sensitive, mission-critical enroute care during patient transport. The team also conducted virtual captures of multiple C-17 aircraft maintenance procedures. The knowledge captures will provide critical virtual training to improve aircraft maintainer proficiency. As always, the Mass Virtual team received outstanding support from the Airmen of the 60 AMW. We appreciate Travis Air Force Base hosting our team and look forward to future projects to continue to expand the C-17’s virtual reality training program.Mass Virtual teamed up with AETC’s Integrated Technology Platform, AMC, and the 60th Air Mobility Wing at Travis Air Force Base, CA to add C-17 Aero-Medical Evacuation and Aircraft Maintenance Training Modules into the Virtual Hangar™ enterprise platform.
